Microsoft is finally putting a price tag on its handheld Xbox devices. The ROG Xbox Ally and the more powerful Ally X are now up for preorder.
The standard ROG Xbox Ally is priced at $599.99, while the upgraded ROG Xbox Ally X will cost $999.99.
The base Ally is built for casual gamers. It comes with an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, 16 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of storage. If that’s not enough, you can expand it with a microSD card.
The Ally X packs in more power across the board. It runs on the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chip, has 24 GB of RAM, and doubles the storage to a 1 TB SSD. Like the regular version, it also has a microSD slot. The X model also includes a bigger battery and more advanced ports. Interestingly, both devices share the same display.
In short, you’ll have to decide if the extra performance is worth paying an extra $400 for the Ally X.
Preorders are available now through major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Asus, and the Microsoft Store. The Ally X, however, is exclusive to Xbox and Microsoft’s online store.
Both handhelds officially launch on October 16.
