Apple is about to nearly double the reach of its workout platform, Fitness+, expanding it to 28 new countries. This marks the biggest jump in availability since the service launched back in 2020.
Fitness+ gives users access to a huge library of on-demand workout videos. Think of it as the modern version of exercise tapes, but upgraded with your Apple Watch tracking your progress, heart rate, and goals in real time. It feels a lot more personal than just following along with a video.
One of the biggest reasons Apple can bring Fitness+ to so many new places at once is AI. The company is using AI technology to recreate the voices of its trainers in three additional languages: German, Spanish, and Japanese (coming in early 2026). Instead of hiring voice actors, AI will make it sound like the trainers themselves are speaking those languages. All 28 Fitness+ trainers will have these AI voice dubs. Wild, right?
This makes the platform far more accessible for people who don’t speak the original language of the videos. No more trying to follow a fast-paced workout while reading subtitles—something that’s annoying at best and dangerous at worst.
Because the AI takes care of the dubbing process, Apple doesn’t need a huge team to produce versions for each market. That cuts down the time and effort needed to roll out Fitness+ in new countries.
Many of the new additions are in Asia, including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and India. Japan will get access in early 2026. Apple is even adding K-Pop as a music option for workouts.
The expansion begins this Monday, December 15. In the U.S., Fitness+ costs $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year, and one subscription covers up to five additional family members.
