Is Apple's Rumored iPhone Slim the Next Big Thing in Smartphones?

Apple has struggled in recent years to recreate the excitement of their yearly iPhone upgrades. There was a time when a new iPhone release was a big event, prompting many users to upgrade immediately.

However, that time has passed. Recent iPhone updates haven’t been compelling enough to convince users to replace their reliable devices, especially with the increasing prices.

But Apple isn’t giving up. Rumors suggest they may release an iPhone Slim in 2025. As the name implies, the iPhone Slim (not the official name) will be a thinner version of the iPhone. Apple has a history of prioritizing sleek designs, and this new model continues that trend.

Tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts the iPhone Slim will have a 6.6-inch screen and a single rear-facing camera, indicating it won’t replace the Pro or standard iPhone models.

With only one rear camera, the Slim seems to be another alternative model, like the budget SE, Mini, and Plus. Despite fewer features, the Slim is rumored to cost up to $1,200, targeting those who highly value a thin smartphone.

Personally, I’m happy with the size of my iPhone 14 Pro, even with a case. And that’s a key point—most people use a case, which would negate the slimness of the iPhone Slim.

If the Slim does become a reality, we likely won’t hear anything official for at least another year.
