Retool, originally a platform for building business apps, has expanded its offerings to include backend services, including workflow automation and now AI-based tools. The company is introducing a hosted vector store that will make it easier for users to incorporate context into large language models (LLMs) in their applications.
While many enterprises want to use AI in their apps, the challenge lies in reasoning over their internal data. Copying and pasting data into a query for context can be limited and costly.
Retool’s solution is Retool Vectors, a hosted vector storage service that integrates with its Workflow service to keep production databases and vectorized databases in sync, ensuring models have access to up-to-date information.
The company is also launching AI-based actions for text summarization, classification, image generation, and more, in partnership with OpenAI.
