Former founders of Argo AI, Bryan Salesky, Peter Rander, and Brett Browning, have established a new self-driving trucks startup named Stack AV, with backing from SoftBank Group. SoftBank Group is the sole investor in the project, providing undisclosed capital, resources, and AI expertise to support its growth and technological development.

The investment is made by SoftBank Group itself, distinct from the SoftBank Vision Fund, which has previously invested in various autonomous vehicle companies. Stack AV’s launch and substantial backing signify a remarkable turnaround for the former Argo AI founders, who faced the closure of Argo AI just 11 months ago when Ford and VW withdrew their support.

Stack AV is now focusing on hiring and conducting tests with autonomous vehicles, with a strong belief in the potential of self-driving trucks and AI to revolutionize transportation and supply chains. Despite the challenges in the sector, Stack AV is confident in its success due to its experienced team and SoftBank Group’s involvement.
