“YouTube has surpassed mobile and is now the primary device for YouTube viewing in the U.S. (by watch time), and according to Nielsen, YouTube has been #1 in streaming watch time in the U.S. for two years,” said YouTube CEO Neal Mohan in a blog post.

This marks a major shift in how people consume content. While YouTube originally started as a desktop platform, the rise of smartphones made mobile viewing the most popular way to watch. But now, things are changing again.
